Fight Like A Girl Self-Defense: Rape Escape Method
As part of my self-defense growth and training I have collected many self-defense books and DVDs from some excellent sources. Every bit of information and training that we learn can ultimately help us protect and defend ourselves should we ever be confronted by a sexual assault. (Check the books/DVDs recommended on the right side of my blog. This training DVD is listed).
Self-defense programs are designed to empower women with the necessary skills to effectively defend ourselves while building the confidence needed to take charge of our own personal safety. Women who resist are twice as likely to escape injury as others. One analysis of 3,000 actual assaults shows that half of the attackers fled from a woman who was willing to resist! The Key is to learn how to effectively resist!
Over the weekend I took a Fight Like A Girl self-protection class in Chicago, Illinois, and I will take three more classes to complete the series. F.L.A.G. is designed to offer the best and most effective self-defense techniques for women in realistic sexual assault or domestic violence situations. Woman can reasonably expect to defend themselves against the most frequent and probable attacks after learning and practicing these techniques. Read more
Realtors: Let Someone Know Your Client’s Name and Where You Are Meeting - As A Safety Precaution.
Real Estate Safety Council
Real estate professionals – let someone know the name of the client you are meeting. You can inform the administrative person in your office, a co-worker, your spouse, best friend, or whomever. Just be sure you’ve given them the name of the person, where you are going, and the approximate time you will return. Try to give as much detail as you can about the person you are meeting with. Don’t Become A Crime Victim! Stay Aware and Stay Alert 24/7
Here is a disturbing video that all women (and men) should watch. It will make you want to protect every woman you know – your mother, sister, best friend, neighbor, and co-workers, from the insane predators who want to murder, assault, rape, and basically hurt women in general. These people are sick and should be locked up. Many have been locked up and let out for whatever reason.
If you are like me, you feel sick to your stomach everytime you hear the daily TV news reports of women who have been murdered. It seems these women are predominantly young women who tend not to be as focused or concerned about their personal security and safety. These young women tend to go jogging by themselves (which they should be able to do) with their iPods hooked to their ears. Or they come out of the local mall with their cell phone plastered to their ears talking a mile a minute and not paying attention to what’s going on. These predators love these young ladies because they are such easy targets! Read more
Personal Security and Safety for Real Estate Agents: Know Who You Are Dealing With
By Real Estate Safety Council
Being a Real Estate professional is one of the most vulnerable types of job there is. In the past, the whole process was very simple. You met your prospective clients, took them in your car to view a property, usually by yourself, and usually the property owner was gone when you viewed the home. In a quest to make a sale, a lot of real estate agents overlooked basic security precautions that could ultimately keep them safe. Read more
Self-Defense Lessons Learned-Don’t Be Lax About Your Personal Safety
By Ken Watterson
The event I am about to describe is a true story. It happened to me. Hopefully my story will raise the awareness of those who read it and save them from making the same kinds of mistakes that I made – mistakes that could have cost me serious injury or possibly my life, at the hands of a street thug who prefers to prey on other people rather than work to make a living on his own.
One evening a couple of years ago, I agreed to meet for dinner at a nice downtown restaurant with a couple of friends from work. We live in a city of a little over 100,000 people in the upper Midwest. Our city has what I would describe as a moderate-to-high crime rate with certain areas of the city much more dangerous than others. Some of the more dangerous areas surround the downtown area and some of the more unsavory characters make their living working the downtown streets. Read more

Self-Defense: Steps to Survival (Excellent Book)
This book is dedicated to everyone who was ever violated and didn’t fight back. Maybe you didn’t know how, or you were scared, you thought you’d be hurt worse, or you thought it was your fault. It wasn’t your fault. It’s important to understand how you can resist this kind of situation should you ever be faced with it again.
People are not attacked simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most assailants are known by their victims and plan their attacks far in advance. Knowing this, you should know how to defend yourself should you ever be concerned about a specific relationship in your life or as a general safety precaution.

The Equalizer - Self Defense Training Video
Do you work in a profession that requires you to meet prospects and clients away from your office, either in their home or a home that you’re trying to sell? If you’re a real estate professional or an in-home alarm sales professional then that is part of your job. Meeting clients who you may not know in an unfamiliar location can leave you vulnerable. Have you really considered the danger that you may be putting yourself in? Most of us do not. It’s the old adage….it won’t happen to me. Attacks on women happen every single day. It’s important to have a safety plan in mind in case you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation. Read more
Waking The Tiger Within - An Excellent Self-Defense Book
Watch this video as it shows the tiger - confident, powerful, unafraid, and imagine that you have the "tiger" within in you as you go about your daily life. Look at what a magnificent animal she is, minding her own busines, however, when provoked and angered she will immediately turn on her attacker with explosive, dominant aggression.

I am reading an excellent book on self-defense entitled, "Waking the Tiger Within", by Scott Flint. It’s a great read and it will make you feel totally empowered. The author chose this title for his book because it’s the key ingredient needed in self-defense. This crucial ingredient is the fighting instinct that lives inside each and every one of us, without exception. It is like a voracious tiger waiting to be let out of it’s cage. Everyone is born with the tiger inside. Many of us have it sleeping deep, deep within us. But when we come face-to-face with someone who wants to take our life or the life of a loved one, this sleeping tiger becomes enraged and it must be immediately communicated to the attacker.
