Realtor Fights Off Attacker In House - South Bend, IN

This past weekend there was an incident where a realtor (female) was attacked by her prospect.  As I have written about on many occasions - it doesn’t matter that you live in a small community like South Bend, Indiana where crime may not be as prevalent as in the larger cities - but crime still happens!  And these criminals are looking for the avenue of least resistance.  Realtors are considered a high risk profession and they need to do everything they can to ensure that their personal safety is one of their highest priorities.

That means ensuring you have a Safety Plan that includes taking self-defense training to learn simple, yet effective defensive techniques and tactics that will enable you to protect and defend yourself against an attacker. Also, take a personal safety awareness class that reviews and reiterates many realtor safety guidelines that are designed to promote everyday awareness to keep you safe.  Read more

Your Personal Safety Weapons - Tip of the Week

Are you knowledgeable in martial arts training?  Have you taken any type of self-defense class?  Has your business or company provided you with security and safety awareness training?  Chances are that not many of you have had any self-defense type training.

The following video is our Tip of the Week talking about "Your Personal Safety Weapons."  For someone with no defensive training or education, this video will show you that you already possess personal safety weapons right on your body.  You just need to know how and when to use them.

As always, my recommendation would be to take a self-defense class in your community to learn how to defend and protect yourself in an attack situation.  These classes are usually 4-6 weeks and 1-3 hours a class.  This is a short timeframe when you consider how effective this training could be to you - if you had to use it!

 Remember, Stay Aware…Stay Alert…Stay Alive!

There’s an old adage that many women think concerning violence and crime and that is, “It won’t happen to me.”  Either they say, I’m too big to be raped,”I’m married and live in a safe areaor “I’m way too old, no one is going to rape me.”  That very thinking usually comes about because it hasn’t happened to them, but they are still at risk and at any given time it could happen to them.  If you go through life without considering the possibility that a sexual assault crime could happen…then what will you do if it does?  You need to be prepared and ready in the event that somebody does try (at some point) to attack you.
