Personal Protection–Your Defense Against An Attacker!
Personal Protection - Tri-Pack Pepper Spray.. Protection On Your keychain..In Your Car..In Your Home!
Pepper Sprays are just one form of non-lethal personal protection that you can carry for self-defense. If you are in a high risk job where you meet with strangers, work a late night shift, are a college student, or just want to know you have a way to protect yourself if you are ever attacked, then carrying some type of protection like Pepper Spray may be a good choice.
When you read the daily newspaper or watch the nightly news, you see more and more personal and home robberies, people being attacked when walking alone - especially during the holiday season - and violent carjackings. All of these crimes are becoming more prevalent. What is a person to do to protect themselves? You cannot totally rely upon the police to be there to protect you or even rely upon other people who may be nearby. The responsibility for protecting yourself is up to YOU!
If you are going to carry some type of defense spray like the Pepper Spray or Mace Spray, you need to do a couple of things:
Believe it or not the right to protect ourselves with non-lethal protection devices is not always a RIGHT in some states, counties, or jurisdictions. You will need to check with local law enforcement officials to find out what the laws are in your area. I know it sounds crazy that a law-abiding person who wants to protect themselves with only non-lethal protection against a violent attacker who may possess a lethal weapon, but that is how the law is set up. (And you wonder who the law is designed to protect).
When you purchase your pepper spray, you will want to do a few practice drills to make sure you know how to spray the device and how NOT to accidentally spray yourself. You’ll receive information with your unit that discusses how to use the product, but it is very minor information. My recommendation would be to get a very informative 32-page booklet entitled "The Facts About Defense Sprays And How To Use Them…" This booklet will give you precise information about how to use the device and if attacked - dropping an attacker to his knees. You can get this booklet and all types of personal protection at www.thepersonalsecuritystore.com.
The Tri-Pack Pepper Spray is an excellent package because it allows you to carry one of the spray units on your keychain. As you are walking to your car with keychain in hand, you are prepared. Always be alert and aware of your surroundings. Because this is the holiday season, we have a tendency is to be preoccupied on things other than our personal safety. For example, as you are leaving the mall with a bundle of Christmas packages trying to find your car in the parking lot, take a moment to look around and make sure no one is following you or that there aren’t strangers hanging around your car. Have your pepper spray in hand along with your keys and know what to do if attacked.
The second spray unit in the package is for your car. You can leave it in the glove compartment or wherever you can easily get to it if attacked while in your car. Before you get into your car again look around to see if there are any strangers nearby and then quickly get inside and lock the doors.
If you have someone carjack your vehicle, evaluate the situation. Does he have a weapon? How has he forced his way into your vehicle - your side or the passenger side? You will need to determine the best way to escape this situation. If he carjacker is unarmed and you are going to use the pepper spray for protection, remember in close quarters when you spray the unit at his face, you may get some of the spray as well. It is a good idea to formulate and have a plan ready in your mind if this type of scenario happens. For me, I would probably take my chances with some spray in an attempt to escape; however, each one of us has to make that decision should it happen to us.
The third spray unit is for your home or wherever you want to keep it. More and more burglaries and home invasions are happening while people are home. If you open your door to a stranger - not thinking properly - and they try to force their way into your home, your only protection may be the pepper spray sitting in the basket near the door. Grab it and spray the perpetrator in the face. If you have your cell phone or portable phone with you, quickly call 911 for help. If you have an alarm system with a keypad near your door, quickly press the panic button to set off the alarm. Most alarm companies dispatch the police immediately on a panic alarm. A loud alarm going off would most likely cause the intruder to quickly leave. However, it could also enrage him so be prepared in this scenario situation as well.
Remember, carry your protection spray with you if it is legal within your city/county/state and practice using it. Having some type of personal protection device will give you a little more confidence and peace of mind that you can protect and defend yourself if attacked.
I highly recommend women take a self-defense class to become mentally and physically educated. You will learn techniques and tactics on the best ways to protect and defend yourself against criminal attacks. Check with your local law enforcement to see if they offer classes such as RAD Self-Defense training.
Review in your mind various scenarios of personal assaults or attacks so you will be prepared twill know how to automatically react should it happen to you! Most importantly - Refuse to be a victim of crime no matter where you are!!

Are High End Shopping Malls A Target Rich Environment For Perpetrators?
Are you a high end target for the criminal mall perpetrator? You might want to examine yourself and your holiday shopping habits before you hit the mall this Friday. Then watch this video to learn just what criminal predators are looking for as they prey upon unsuspecting women at high end shopping malls across America. Be sure to review the mall personal safety tips at the end - tips we already KNOW yet it never hurts to remind ourselves of how important personal safety is during the holiday season.
As the Holiday Season officially kicks off on Black Friday, November 27th, it is imperative that women especially consider their personal safety while they are at the shopping mall, as they approach their vehicle in the mall parking lot, as they drive home, and when they are at home.
We normally think of the holiday season as a time of thankfulness, joy and giving unto others. Yet, there are predators who are preying upon vulnerable, unsuspecting women who will be victims of their criminal acts. This video depicts a stark reality of what may be on the mind of a "criminal predator - perpetrator" who will have no qualms about attacking, hurting, and even viciously murdering women in order to get what he wants!
It is up to women to realize that these types of crimes are happening and to proactively protect yourself and your family wherever you are. If someone is planning to attack you in the shopping mall, don’t make it easy for him to do so. Be alert, be aware of your surroundings, have your keys ready and carry some type of Pepper Spray, Mace, Personal Alarm, TASER, or Stun Gun for personal protection. Noise is one of the biggest deterrents so if attacked make as much noise as possible! (Personal protection @ www.thepersonalsecuritystore.com).

Tips To Avoid Becoming A Carjacking Victim - Part III
There are criminals waiting to catch people who are not paying attention — those who have let their guard down — and attack at the opportune time! Remember to stay aware, stay alert, so you stay alive!
Today, citizens have a lot to be conerned about and certainly to stay aware of -a crazy economy, job losses, home burglaries/home invasion robbery crimes that are increasing and personal attacks on the rise. Something as simple as going to the grocery store, the local Target store, or just getting out of your car in front of your apartment, you need to be more alert and aware of things that are going on around you. You never know when there could be someone waiting in the parking lot to carjack your vehicle or worse yet, abduct you!!! (Click Here - See recent article on two teens carjacked and thrown in the trunk of their vehicle).
Make your personal safety and security a habit, especially when you are away from home and by yourself. I have included a personal protection device - the 4 In 1 Emergency Tool - that you may want to keep in your car’s front seat area as well as one in the trunk of your car. The cost is small when you compare the value this tool can provide in helping you survive an emergency or even a carjacking if you are stuffed into the trunk of your vehicle.
Watch this short video and learn how to avoid being a carjacking victim. They seem so common-sense yet people who become victims of this crime don’t always follow these tips. Listen and learn!! (Video Courtesy of eHowauto).
It Can Happen Anywhere And To Anyone
• Though carjackings can occur anytime, a sizeable share appear to take place during the late night hours.
• Carjacking isn’t just a problem in large cities – it happens in suburbs, small towns, and rural areas.
• Carjackers look for opportunity. They don’t choose victims by sex, race, or age.
Areas that carjackers target are: intersections controlled by traffic lights or stops lights, parking garages, shopping malls, grocery stores, gas stations, car washes, ATM machines, residential driveways or apartment parking lots, highway exit and entry ramps.
First and foremost make sure you lock your doors as soon as you are in your car and make sure the windows are all rolled up. Don’t allow a carjacker to easily enter your car.
1. Be alert to your surroundings, even when you feel rushed. When approaching your car, have your keys in your hand, and check the back seat before you get in.
2. If someone is loitering near your unoccupied car as you approach it, keep walking until the person leaves.
3. Be wary of people asking for directions or handing out flyers. Trust your instincts – if something makes you feel uneasy, get into your car quickly, lock the doors and drive away.
4. Avoid driving alone. Have someone with you especially at night.
5. When you come to a stop, leave enough space to maneuver around other cars. In extreme situations you might even consider going through a traffic light, as long as you can do so without causing an accident.
6. Don’t stop to assist a stranger whose car has broken down. Instead, drive to the nearest phone or use your cell phone to call the police for help.
7. If you are driving home and notice someone you don’t recognize loitering, drive around the block and come back after the person has left.
8. Avoid parking near anything that limits your visibility.
Most importantly – If a carjacker threatens you with a gun or other weapon, give up your car! Don’t’ argue. Your life is worth far more than a car!
If someone takes your car, get away from the area as quickly as you can. Try to remember what the carjacker looked like and report the crime immediately to the police.
You may want to consider carrying some type of personal protection on your keychain like pepper spray or mace spray, or even a stun gun or TASER C2.
As mentioned in many of my articles, taking a self-defense or safety awareness training class can teach you what to do and how to protect and defend yourself against these types of criminal attacks. Check with your local law enforcement to see if they have self-defense training classes available.

Part III - Tips To Avoid Being A Carjacking Victim
Violent Carjacking Crime & The 4 In 1 Emergency Tool - Part I
WARNING CRIMINAL ALERT
Carjacking Robbery - Latest Violent Crime. Be Aware/Be Alert/Be Prepared!
The local South Bend Tribune newspaper had an article about two 18 and 19-year old college sophomores who were victims of a robbery and carjacking Thursday night near their apartment. They both were robbed and then stuffed into the trunk of the student’s vehicle.
The students were arriving back to their apartment about 10:40 p.m. Thursday evening. As they got out of the car they were surrounded by four young men - one of which was carrying a gun. The robbers demanded the student’s money, wallets, bank access numbers, and debit/credit cards. The students were told if they didn’t do what the carjackers wanted they were going to be shot and thrown into the river that flows through town. They were then stuffed into the trunk of the car.
The four punks then stole the vehicle with the students in the trunk. As they were driving the vehicle at about 1:30 a.m Friday, police officers noticed the car’s high-beam headlights were staying on and started following the vehicle. A chase ensued and the punks crashed the car into a fence and ran away. Police officers were not able to catch the criminals; however, the students in the trunk were safely rescued.
One of the students said, "You never think that a carjacking will happen to you. We were kind of blindsided. I don’t know how you could have prepared." Well, that’s pretty much what everyone says after they’ve become a victim of a crime. Whether it’s a personal assault, physical attack, home invasion, or home burglary - people say they never thought it would happen to them.
How you avoid a crime like this from happening to you "IS" to be PREPARED!! Be alert, be aware of your surroundings, be prepared and stay alive! Realize that violent crime is infecting every community and you need to understand that it could happen to you. Don’t get into the mindset that "it won’t happen to me!"
Here is a 4 in 1 Emergency Tool that is clearly a lifesaver and should be in everyone’s car - both in the front seat area and the trunk of your car. This may be your first step to being prepared.
Here’s how the 4 in 1 Emergency Tool functions and can provide added security for you:
.jpg)
-
It has a super bright flashlight that can be used at night in any situation. (Think of being in the trunk of your car - it would come in extra handy).
- It has a blinking emergency light that activates automatically upon removal from its base. (Again, a great tool if you are stuck in the trunk of your car).
- If you are trapped in your car or the trunk of your car, the unit acts as a hammer to break the window out for an escape or can be used to break out the tail lights. (Once again, great tool to have in the trunk).
- The 4 in 1 Emergency Tool also has a blade that can cut the seat belt in case you are trapped. This tool can also cut through the duct tape that was used to wrap your wrists with. (Don’t you think this would be a great tool to have in the trunk of your car?).
Lastly, because the 4 in1 Emergency Tool can be used as a hammer, it can also be used as a weapon to fight off a carjacker who plans to do you harm. Most carjackers, kidnappers, or those who abduct their victims by throwing them into the trunk of a vehicle and taking them to a second location usually don’t live to tell about it. Be prepared to fight back if it means saving your life!
This is a versatile tool with four great uses in your car. Because of the pricing people should have a 4 in 1 Emergency Tool in both the front seat (maybe under the seat) and in the trunk of your car.
Also you might want to consider carrying Personal Protection such as Pepper Spray, Mace, Stun Gun, TASER C2, or Personal Alarm. Check out all personal protection products at http://www.ThePersonalSecurityStore.com

There have been several abduction attempts and carjacking crimes that have occurred in our small city within the last few weeks. In a city of less than 100,000 people this is definately not a common crime, but it is one that has many people very concerned. Here is one of the recent headlines:
Courtesy of the South Bend Tribune
In wake of abduction attempts, how can shoppers protect themselves?
MISHAWAKA — In addition to the abduction of a 19-year-old girl on Tuesday, police want to know if Michael Lindsey is connected to two other attempted abductions earlier in the day. All three of incidents happened in broad daylight, in parking lots.
So we headed to Meijer with Mishawaka police Lt. Tim Williams to see what women were doing right and wrong.
One woman was watching at all times and had her purse by her side.
"It’s next to her, so she has it … she’s not worried about her cart, where it’s going; but she has her purse on her, she’s keeping her purse with her … when she came out she was looking around," Lt. Williams observed.
"Don’t roll your window down," he continued. "If you’re not in your car try and get in your car as quick as possible.

Keeping Her Wits About Her and Awareness Saved Her Life! (Part I)
It was August of last year that Cidney Smith, IUPUI student, and a friend of my son was carjacked and kidnapped outside an upscale mall parking lot in Indianapolis. Luckily, Cidney kept her wits about her and was able to ultimately escape before her kidnapper could do any major harm to her.
One thing Cidney said that actually helped her know what to do to save her life was something she had seen on an Oprah show. There was a self-defense security expert and victims of crime on the show discussing what to do if you are attacked, assaulted, or kidnapped. She remembered some of the things the expert and victims had said to do and she did them.
What a brave young lady. Most women without any knowledge of what to do in a situation like this would tend to give up or do something to cause the attacker or kidnapper to do grave harm to them.
Here is an excerpt of the events that happened to Cidney on that horrible day in Indianapolis. It is my belief that self-defense, safety awareness, and knowledge of how to protect yourself if attacked or assaulted can ultimately save your life as it did for Cidney. Read more
