Self-Defense-Defending Against A Sucker Punch Attack

Being aware not only of your surroundings but the people around you is so important. Michael Pace is a self-defense expert who does an outstanding job of providing self-defense instruction videos for women…and men. One of the self-defense tips he gives is about the sucker punch. He says when a perpetrator is about to throw a sucker punch there are some signs that the punch is about to come your way. If you are observant and knowledgeable, you may be able to block the punch and give the attacker an element of surprise. And that surprise is being able to defensively fight back enough to disable the attacker and get away to safety.
If you are in an aggressive confrontation with someone, be sure to watch and see if their right (or left) shoulder drops back slightly. This could be a clear signal that they are getting ready to throw a sucker punch. If you are observant, this may give you enough time to prepare and defend against the incoming punch by throwing your left (or right) arm up to meet the punch. Then you can go into action to quickly defend yourself.
Knowing what to look for and how to react is part of "being prepared." Michael Pace has some excellent self-defense training DVD’s for women. Checkout his website at www.womens-self-defense.com for more information.

Be Prepared, Be Ready, And Know How To Fight For Your Life
If You Come Face To Face With An Evil, Violent Predator - Be Prepared To Fight For Your Life!
Back in the old days women were told if faced with a confrontation, physical attack, or sexual assault from a male prepetrator – don’t fight back you’ll only inflame the guy and that will make him madder and meaner. You were told to try and reason with the attacker – try to negotiate your way out of being raped or brutally beaten up - unfortunately many women were still violently murdered.
Not Today Ladies!!! You need to consider that there has been an increase in violent crimes and assaults against women – both young and old – in record numbers all across our country. And what are women doing to protect themselves from this offensive crime?
Women of all ages are starting to stand up and say “WE’RE NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE" and they are learning how to defend and protect themselves. Women are becoming skilled in self-defense and safety awareness techniques and finding that inner female warrior that says, “I’m not going to become a crime victim of some perpetrator’s whim!!” . Top (5) Personal Safety Tips On Staying Safe and Alive!
Everyday we get up and go about our daily lives and activities without even giving a second thought to our personal safety. In reality, we shouldn’t have to because personal safety should be a part of our being. It should be second nature…a habit that we don’t even have to think about it. We should instinctively know that our personal safety, as well as those we care about, is a high priority no matter what business we are in, what we do, or where we live - from the safest, small community to the largest, most crime-ridden city.
There’s an old adage that many women think concerning violence and crime and that is, “It won’t happen to me.” Either they say, “I’m too big to be raped,” “I’m married and live in a safe area” or “I’m way too old, no one is going to rape me.” That very thinking usually comes about because it hasn’t happened to them, but they are still at risk and at any given time it could happen to them. If you go through life without considering the possibility that a sexual assault crime could happen…then what will you do if it does? You need to be prepared and ready in the event that somebody does try (at some point) to attack you. Read more
Personal Security-Jogging & Walking Tips To Keep You Safe

Spring is definitely in the air and for a lot of people – this is jogging or walking weather. If you are like me, you want to make sure you are getting your exercise – your cardio – so you feel and look better for the coming summer season.
But guess what? The fact that you might think nothing of throwing on your cute little shorts – your halter top – pulling your hair back into a cute little ponytail and strapping your MP3 player to your upper arm and into your ears – means you should definitely be aware of some crazy predator out there looking for someone just like you – happy go lucky, with the CD or MP3 player going on in her ear, and nonchalantly jogging or walking. (The perfect prey).
Before you do your final stretch to hit the road, consider your personal safety along the way. You may be in a truly positive mode as you’re hitting the road – but the sad fact is – crime is rampant in certain areas – and there are predators out there just looking for someone who appears to be totally unaware of what is going on around her. Beverly Fisher, Realtor - Discusses Realtor Safety Awareness
Beverly Fisher, Realtor, Century 21 Jim Dunfee Realty
Personal Security Solutions, the parent company of Self Defense With An Attitude, along with Linda Sokol from ADT Security, recently held a Realtor Safety Awareness Seminar for Century 21 Jim Dunfee Realty in South Bend, Indiana. We discussed various safety awareness topics on how realtors can keep themselves safe while on the job, at home, on the road, and basically wherever they go.
Realtors are in a fairly high risk category just by the very nature of their job and our special guest, Beverly Fisher, Broker Associate, from Century 21 Jim Dunfee Realty, mentioned that in her testimonial video. She said, “When you are working the front desk and get a call from someone (lots of times a complete stranger) who wants to meet with you right away, the first thing you do is bolt out to meet him. And sometimes you don’t even tell anyone.” In today’s world that is not always the safest thing to do. Each real estate office should have specific forms for documenting prospective client data, addresses where the agent will be meeting the prospect, and pertinent information that might prove helpful if the agent comes up missing. Prevent A Crime By Having A Safety Plan In Place - Part II
By Susan Bartelstone, Crime Prevention and Personal Safety Specialist
Making a Safety Plan. Perhaps the most important component is #4—coming up with a plan of action quickly. But, how can you be sure you’ll be able to think of response options if you’re terrified? And, in 20 seconds, no less?
The best way to be mentally prepared for a criminal encounter is by having a Safety Plan in place beforehand. Start your own process off by doing the Safety Plan Exercise below:
1. Identify at least five potential safety problems or dangerous situations in your personal life or daily routine that cause you concern.
2. Do some research: collect safety tip pamphlets; read personal safety and self defense books; watch videos. Also study books on defusing confrontations and maybe take a self defense course or three. *
3. Then formulate a plan of action for each of the problems you’ve identified that details everything you could do and say in that instance. The more options you’re familiar with, the quicker you’ll be able to come up with a safe response should something happen.
4. Write down your Safety Plans on your computer or in a notebook and rehearse them periodically so they become internalized (component #5 of the 20- Second Response). That way your response to any anticipated danger will be automatic and speedy. Read more

Gutzy Self-Defense For Women-The Ultimate Palm Strike
Checkout Dr. Ruthless’ website @ www.dr-ruthless.com
This woman has definately got the self-defense moves, the self-defense techniques, and the gutziness to make me want to learn what she knows so I can add it to my safety plan of action. I never want to be a victim of crime. To be one step ahead of a predator, I want to know if attacked that I have the confidence, the fortitude, the know-how and the flat out strength and power to fight back with everything I have to survive!
When you think about it, why should some dirt-bag predator determine that your life is worth nothing and he has the right to take it from you…and your family. Just the thought of that scenario should make women angry as all get out!!
Watch the self-defense palm strike moves in the video and learn them. If attacked, this could be one of the ultimate weapons you effectively use to get away to safety.
Look at taking a good self-defense class - you know I highly recommend the RAD Self-Defense class.

Self-Defense Safety Plan - Do You Have One? You Should.
Check this video out about having a safety plan. It has gone a little to the extreme, but it depicts the reality. If you must rely upon 911 to get the authorities to you….you may spend minutes (which could seem like hours) on the phone just talking to a 911 operator. Time is of the essence….especially when your life is involved. Do you have a Safety Plan of Action in place? If so, you will know what to do to ultimately save your life. If you have a daughter, you will definately want to see this video.

First of all I would make ever effort to have a safety plan of action that involved the use of non-lethal forms of self-defense (ie., C2 Taser, stun gun, pepper spray gun, pepper spray/mace), plus a solid mental safety plan of action.
Some women have had situations in their life that may require them to carry a firearm for protection. Whatever form of personal protection that you carry, be sure you are thoroughly trained in how to use that protection.
Remember, you cannot replace your life. Use whatever form of protection you can to save your life …whether it be self-defense techniques to throw the predator off guard so you can quickly get away to safety or a legal–lethal form of protection, like a firearm. Be sure if you carry a firearm that you have the required legal documents to justify.
You know how our legal eagles love to go after the victims of crime, especially when they turn the tables on the perpetrators.

Self-Defense With An Attitude: Don’t Mess With Dr. Ruthless!

Dr. Ruthless, Self-Defense/Black Belt Expert
You need to watch this video of self-defense/black belt instructor Dr. Ruthless. She definitely has an attitude that says, “I will not become a victim of your crime today, Buddy.” And she looks like she can beat the crap out of guys twice her size.
Melissa Soalt aka Dr. Ruthless has developed self-defense techniques and tactics that when used appropriately will absolutely surprise a male attacker and send HIM running in another direction. It’s all in how you carry yourself, your mental attitude, your mental toughness, and what you have learned from your self-defense training that will give you the confidence to fight off an attacker.
You need to find your inner strength. If you have taken a self-defense course or purchased self-defense videos/DVDs, you should practice…practice…practice the techniques you have learned. After your self-defense class is completed and over, you will want to occasionally visualize in your mind the techniques you learned and how they would apply to specific types of attacks. It is a good idea to have a basic self-defense training video on-hand, similar to ones listed on my site, that you can refer to from time to time. Read more
