Empower Yourself - Fight Back

Check out this video about some common sense things we should do every day.  I’ve discussed always being aware of our surroundings 24/7 and trusting your instincts and gut feelings.  To further advance your self- defense awareness you should empower yourself by taking some type of local self-defense training or get a  video or DVD on the subject that you can watch at home.  The more you participate in a self-defense class or watch the defense moves that can help save your life, the more empowered and confident you are going to feel.

Should you be attacked or assaulted and told to get into the attacker’s car or the perpetrator is trying to push you into your car….what are you going to do?  Follow orders or fight back?  If you do as you are told, there is a good chance you won’t see your family again.  If you fight back and scream like a crazy person, you might actually scare off the perpetrator and attract attention.  In any case your main objective is to get away to safety.  Remember, getting into the car is not a good idea.  What would your family want you to do?  If the odds are going to be the same, I think I would rather fight than get into the car and go someplace where no one knows where I am, I don’t know where I am to tell someone, and it may just be the end.

Empower yourself now!  Fight back and carry an equalizer - like pepper spray, mace, C2 Taser, or stun gun - with you when you are out by yourself.  First of all the perpetrator will not expect you to fight back and when you do, you zap him with your secret weapon and throw him off.  That is when you get away as quickly as you can to safety.  Try to remember as much about this person and contact the police immediately.

Remember, be proactive with your personal security and safety and have a plan of action before a situation like this happens.

Here’s to your safety.  Stay Aware…Stay Alert…Stay Alive!
