Woman Stabbed To Death In Parking Garage
CENTURY CITY (CBS) ― Police searched today for a man who stabbed a Camarillo woman to death in the parking structure of a Century City high-rise office building.
Pamela Fayed, 44, had her throat cut in the garage at 1875 Century Park

Just (2) postings ago I had talked about Parking Garage/Mall Parking Safety Tips. Two of the most vulnerable places for an attack or assault to happen is in a deserted parking garage or a shopping mall parking lot late in the evening. If you use city parking garages, be aware and be alert at all times.
Personally, I do not like parking in downtown parking garages by myself. There are too many opportunities for criminal elements to hang out and attack unsuspecting victims (typically women). Get yourself a personal protection device and take a self-defense class. Knowing what to do and how to defend and protect yourself is key to your staying safe.
If you don’t already have Personal Safety Plan, make one today. That plan should include taking a self-defense or safety awareness class and carrying some type of a personal protection device like pepper spray, mace, Taser C2, stun gun, or a personal alarm with you. These are non-lethal devices meant to only stun and disable an attacker enough for you to get away to safety and call the police.
Don’t let what happened to this lady happen to you. Many times an assault or attack is by someone you know or who knows you. If you have things going on in your life that make this type of attack a possibility, then you must be ever vigilant about your security and safety. This means at home, at work, or out shopping. In today’s world of attacks on women, being aware of your surroundings should just be common sense. Instead of being complacent, e.g., talking on the cell phone as you walk to your car or carrying too many packages, make sure you are looking around for anything unusual. Have your keys in your hands, and your personal protection readily available if you need it. (Be sure to check your local city/county laws on carrying some personal protection devices).
Remember, Stay Aware…Stay Alert…Stay Alive!

Hello Cheryl,
I found your website from Joanne Factor’s Strategic Living website (blog). I am always looking for good information for women along with resources.
While my blog is more of a general interest website, I do plenty of posts that may motivate women to action (to make a plan or take self-defense classes). I added your site to my blogroll.
