H1N1 Influenza Information

Here is important information regarding the H1N1 Flu virus that we hear about each day.  More and more people are being affected by this type of flu virus so we wanted to provide you with information to learn the symptoms and how to prevent them from spreading to others.

PREVENTION:

  1. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.  Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  2. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow.
  3. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
  4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.  Germs spread that way.
  5. Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

SYMPTOMS:

  1. Fever (greater than 100 degrees F)
  2. Sore throat and cough
  3. Stuffy nose
  4. Chills
  5. Headache & body aches
  6. Fatigue
  7. Nausea & vomiting
  8. Severe illness (respiratory distress and pneumonia have been reported in people with this virus).
